Alpha Nu Sigma

Alpha Nu Sigma was initiated in 1979 by the American Nuclear Society (ANS) as the national honor society for nuclear science and engineering students. Membership in this society is limited to the top quarter of juniors and top third of seniors and graduate students in their respective class and actively involved in the nuclear engineering program. Qualifications are summarized as follows:

"The objective of the Alpha Nu Sigma Society shall be to
recognize high scholarship, integrity, and potential achievement
in applied nuclear science and nuclear engineering among
outstanding students by means of membership in the society."

Our Alpha Nu Sigma chapter at the University of Utah was established April 16, 1984.
