Mission and Program Goals

The Nuclear Engineering Program (UNEP) follows the University of Utah’s mission to provide excellence and equal opportunity in the areas of education, research, and public service. The UNEP is nested within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University, but maintains its own administrative office where UNEP admissions, graduate student records, and other program business is processed.

The UNEP is an independent program that draws students from a wide variety of academic backgrounds, and utilizes the resources and expertise of engineering faculty from all of the following areas to meet the academic and research needs of Nuclear Engineering Graduate Students:
